When: Sunday, June 2, 2013 at The Club at Spindletop Hall. Racing begins at 8:30am.
Who: Children ages 6-14 years old (their race age is how old they are on December 31, 2013)
How many: The maximum children allowed to race will be 200.
Cost: This will be a USA Triathlon sanctioned race which means each child must either have a one-day license from USA Triathlon ($10) or an Annual Youth Membership ($15). Sanctioning the race means every aspect of the race from course safety to volunteers, emergency care, course layout, to insurance will be reviewed by the national organization to make it as safe and fun as possible. The race fee is $30 per child plus the USA Triathlon membership. See below for more details.

For a good cause: The 2013 Kid’s Legacy Tri helps support children in our community who can’t afford to try a triathlon. Each child selected will be fitted to a quality used bike, a new bike helmet, and a complimentary race fee including youth membership in USA Triathlon.

Traveling South on I-75.

Take exit 120, go to the end of the off ramp and take a LEFT.

Proceed past the Kentucky Horse Park until the road becomes two-lane.

The Spindletop Hall drive is the First Right.
Traveling East on I-64

Take I-75 North to exit 120,

Go to the end of the off ramp and take a RIGHT.

Traveling North on I-75

Take exit 115, go to the end of the off ramp and take a RIGHT.

This is Newtown Pike (922) - Proceed straight through the traffic light and continue 2 miles until you reach the four way stop

Take a LEFT at the four way stop and Spindletop Hall drive will be ¾ of a mile on your left. The entrance is the last left turn you can make before the road becomes four lane.
Traveling from Lexington

Travel to Newtown Pike and take it northbound (away from downtown) until you pass under I-75

Proceed straight through the traffic light at Stanton Way, and continue 2 miles until you reach the four way stop.

Take a LEFT at the four way stop and Spindletop Hall drive will be ¾ of a mile on your left.

The entrance is the last left turn you can make before the road becomes four lane.
Race Timing: Race timing will be done by 3 Way Racing.
Post event: After the Race there will be family fun entertainment, food, and use of the club pool and playground.
Awards: Each participant will receive a finisher's medal upon completion of the race!! Awards for top 3 finishers in each age group, both Male and Female, will be given out at the completion of the entire race. Please stick around for the award ceremony, good food, and good music!
Volunteer Information: As always a race is as successful as the quality of its volunteers. If you would like to volunteer, contact the race director.
USAT MEMBERSHIP
This is a USA Triathlon (USAT) sanctioned race. Therefore, for insurance purposes, all participants are required to be USAT members and all participants are required to sign the USAT waiver -- NO EXCEPTIONS. The cost for an annual USAT youth membership is $15, and it will allow you to race at any USAT sanctioned race. We encourage you to Join USAT online, as it will make the registration and check-in process easier.

Parents must bring an ID to the packet pickup on Thursday, May 30th, at Swim Bike Run of Kentucky and sign the USAT waiver form for their child.
